A large, generously sized coffee mug in bold, dramatic colours. Australia is sometimes called the Land of Reptiles because of the huge variety of lizards and other reptiles that live here (over 860 species). Lots of people find reptiles a bit creepy, but if there’s one lizard that’s genuinely cute, it’s the Gecko! With their delicately patterned skins, large eyes and characteristic sticky-toed feet, Geckos are very appealing fellows. Here in Coonabarabran our local geckos are shy, quiet lizards, hard to spot because they’re usually keeping out of the dry heat
This mug features rich, volcanic colours, with fiery tones on the gecko and goldlustre glaze on the rim and handle. Our potter has finished this mug off with a distinctive tail-like handle, designed to feel comfortable in the hand.
Our distinctive look is achieved by only glazing the design, rim and handle of this piece, providing a dramatic contrast to the natural "sandstone" colour of our local clay. The inside of the mug is fully glazed with a clear glaze.
We ship to most countries, please ask us for a quote. We take extra special care with padding and boxing to make sure the piece will be amply protected.
Please contact us if you would like to order a set of mugs, or if you would like to order a Gecko mug with different glazes.
