Diameter: 23cm
A beautiful medium sized wall platter featuring our most popular pattern, the Blue Wren. This active, delightful, tiny bird (his proper name is the Superb Fairy-Wren) is a great favourite in his native Australia, beloved of all who are lucky enough to have him flitting about in their gardens (like us). His bold, inquisitive disposition, colourful plumage and lovely trilling song make him a very welcome neighbour. Everyone loves this cheeky, bright little fellow. He is pictured here sitting in a vibrantly glazed gum branch.
As well as a bright cobalt blue on the Blue Wren, this plate also features a rich red glaze on its rim, deep red gum blossoms and gumnuts and a wonderful blend of glazes on the gum leaves. While designed to be a decorative wall platter (it has two holes in the back, where a wire loop may be inserted for easy hanging) it can also be used as a serving platter for dry foods, such as biscuits or bread.
Our distinctive look is achieved by only glazing the design and rim of this piece, providing a dramatic contrast to the natural "sandstone" colour of our local clay.
We ship to most countries, please ask us for a quote. We take extra special care with padding and boxing to make sure the piece will be amply protected.
Please contact us if you would like to order a variation on this kind of plate. We do a large variety of designs on wall plates, including all our popular patterns and occasionally more individual patterns, such as the Celtic Cross or Goanna. We also have smaller and larger sizes of wall platter available. Enquiries welcome.
