This elegant, medium sized vase is richly decorated in traditional scrollwork patterns and flourishes, in a pattern of three – three spacious, open swirls running vertically down the curve of the vase, separated by three geometric panels in a kind of checquered plaid design. The opulence of the design is complemented by the simplicity of the colour scheme. The glazer has restricted herself to three colours, a rich deep red glaze, a finely-grained warm creamy beige, and the warm “cream and honey” look of rutile speckle, all of which fit beautifully with the warm creamy background of the clay itself.

Our distinctive look is achieved by only glazing the design and rim of this piece, providing a dramatic contrast to the natural "sandstone" colour of our local clay. The inside of the vase is fully glazed with a clear glaze, so it is usable.
